Flying flying soaring high
Through your mind I'm hypnotized
Arms spread out and steering through
Through the air and home to you
Sweet warm air my wings wont bend
Do pray often may this not end
A shaky wind and loss of sight
I'm blown out downward this cant be right
Falling falling catch me ground
A familiar hole dark and sound
In it lay my broken wings
Echo and fade though my nightmares still sing
Catching clawing snapping breaking
My wrists held down my heart still shaking
Wounded bird who soared so high
They'd ask me how I'd learned to fly
He taught me many breaths ago
He and more they all called home
And without fail I return to this place
Dead air and memories trapped in a maze
Neverending though to sky I stay true
I'll always believe even after you
All the love the hate the sorrow the pain
Always washing my wings always left with a stain
So why, theyll ask, when we know it must end
I'll say: It's all for the sake of knowing how to fly again
